Down on the Farm ~ Farm Breakfast ~ Senior Buddies

Our performance this morning was wonderful.  We came back to the room and jumped into making our farm breakfast.  Everything was delicious!  Thanks to all those who were able to help.

We also made apple turkeys with our senior buddies.  After the turkeys were finished, everyone read and played outside.

There are lots of pictures.  I already posted all of today's pictures and some pictures from earlier in the month to the iWeb page.  Please let me know if you aren't sure how to access these pictures.

Sequencing ~ Making Butter

We put story cards into order, wrote a story, and shared what we wrote.

We made butter for our farm breakfast.  Here is the chant that we said as we shook the cream into butter.

Maze Craze!

We read the new book Thump, Quack, Moo by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.  It is a wildly fun book about a farmer and a duck building a maze.  Ask your KC kid what the maze looked like at the end of the book.  After reading the book, the class worked in teams to build mazes.  It was awesome to watch!  The teams worked together beautifully - using good manners, discussing ideas, and taking turns.  After the mazes were built, each team shared their maze with other teams.  Please go to the next post to see the pictures.

Star of the Week Ethan ~ The Three Little Pigs ~ Calendar Pattern

Sam is our Star of the Week.  Sam's favorite food is chocolate.  He is excited about riding his bike.  He would like to be a math scientist someday.  He also likes to color.
We read two version of the Three Little Pigs - The Three Little Pigs and The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig.

We compared the stories using a Venn diagram.  The class did a great job remembering a lot of detail!

We illustrated three of something.

Everyone drew his or her favorite part of one of the books.
Our November pattern is almost complete.  Do you have a guess what the pattern will be?

Favorite Baby Animal ~ Memory Game ~ Sequencing Stories

We graphed our favorite animals.

We colored the memory game pieces.

We played the memory game.  This game came home tonight.  Play it this weekend with your child if you can.

The students sequenced story cards and wrote captions for the cards.
