Star of the Week Ethan ~ The Three Little Pigs ~ Calendar Pattern

Sam is our Star of the Week.  Sam's favorite food is chocolate.  He is excited about riding his bike.  He would like to be a math scientist someday.  He also likes to color.
We read two version of the Three Little Pigs - The Three Little Pigs and The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig.

We compared the stories using a Venn diagram.  The class did a great job remembering a lot of detail!

We illustrated three of something.

Everyone drew his or her favorite part of one of the books.
Our November pattern is almost complete.  Do you have a guess what the pattern will be?

Apple Day ~ Estimation Jar

It was apple day in KC.  We added apples to these trees this morning.  We counted the number of red apples, green apples, and yellow apples.

We made applesauce.

Adeti brought pennies in the estimation jar.  There were 66 pennies.

The applesauce was yummy!

We added sugar and cinnamon to the apples peels and baked them.  This was also yummy!
We also ate apple slices today.  We compared the apple slices to the applesauce using a Venn diagram.

Writing Number ~ Star of the Week - Adeti ~ Patterns

We went outside to write numbers.

Adeti is our Star of the Week.  She was born in India.  Her favorite foods are pizza and ice cream sundaes.  She would like to be an artist.  She likes to go to Florida and India.
During math workshop, the students used pictures of the patterns that they created earlier in the year and tried to duplicate them.  Some of the patterns were easy to copy, and some were harder to copy.  We also wrote numbers and sorted coins during math workshop.

We also practiced with Mrs. Butler for our performance on Friday, November 12.  The performance begins at 8:15.

We ended our day with art class and Mr. Cicetti.
